Pinnawala & Kandy Day Excrusion 

We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel or airport if you are transiting at airport and drive to Pinnawala elephant orphanage.  Depends on the denaturing time you will be able to witness for number of activities such as bottle feeding  ( 9.15am, 1.15pm & 5pm ) and bathing time at the river is at 10am and 2pm.  This orphanage is situated in Rambukkana northwest of the town in Kegalla. It was established 1975 by the Sri Lanka wildlife department, this 24 acres large elephant orphanage is a also breeding for elephants the first elephant baby was born in 1984 and it has the greatest herd of elephants in captivity in the world, Between 1975 and 2012, 67 animals were born.

Kandy

After visits Piinawala elephant orphanage , proceed to Kandy which will takes around 2 ½ hours.

This jewel of a city, set 480 m above sea level and surrounded by mountains is the hill capital of Sri Lanka. Kandy was the last independent Kingdom of Sri Lanka, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century.

In the evening, visit the majestic Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth, known as the Dalada Maligawa, set at the edge of a beautiful artificial lake, which is home to the island’s most revered relic, the Buddha’s tooth, which arrived here in the sixteenth century.

Kandy is famous for its shopping’ The narrow streets are lined with shops displaying beautiful precious and semi precious gems, skillfully crafted jewelry, handicrafts, colorful batiks, silk and many more.
